How Temply handles your information — in plain language.
Temply (the "app", "we", or "us") is a cross-platform utility for iOS and Android that helps you store short-lived information — such as a parking spot, laundry token, queue number, locker code, receipt, visitor pass, or Wi-Fi password — and then deletes it automatically once it's no longer useful. This Privacy Policy explains what the app does and does not do with information on your device.
Temply processes the following information locally on your device only, unless you explicitly choose to export or (optionally) sync it, as described below. None of it is transmitted to us.
When you take a photo or pick one from your library to save a memory, the image is stored in the app's private storage. Temply runs on-device text recognition (OCR) and QR/barcode scanning on the image to suggest a title, extract a token or code, and pick a category. This processing happens on your device; images are not uploaded.
The text read from an image, any extracted number/code, the category, your notes, and the created/expiry times are saved to a local database on your device so the app can display and manage your memories. You can edit or delete any of this at any time.
If — and only if — you tap "Attach location" on a memory, Temply reads your current location once and, where available, converts it to a readable place label (reverse geocoding) so you can remember, for example, where you parked. Location is stored with that memory on your device and is never sent to us. You can decline the permission or simply not use the feature.
Your settings — such as theme, auto-delete behaviour, reminder timing, and language — are stored locally on the device.
Temply does not access your contacts, call logs, microphone, or accounts, and it does not read images beyond the ones you choose to add to a memory.
Temply requests only what its features need. You are asked at the moment a feature is first used, and you can revoke any permission later in your device settings.

Information accessed by the app is used solely to provide its core function: reading a photo to detect text and codes, suggesting a title, category, and expiry, storing your memories locally, reminding you before they expire, and deleting them automatically afterwards. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the features you see in the app.
We do not sell, rent, or disclose your information to anyone. By default, your memories, photos, and codes stay on your device and are never sent to us or to any third party.

Temply does not include advertising and does not collect analytics by default. Any anonymous, aggregate usage reporting is strictly opt-in and is off unless you enable "Share anonymous analytics" in Settings. You can turn it back off at any time.
Memories are designed to be temporary. When a memory expires it moves to "Recently Expired" for up to 24 hours (so you can restore it) and is then permanently removed — you can also disable this in Settings. In addition, you can:
All core processing happens on-device, and app data is kept in the operating system's private per-app storage, which other apps cannot read. Because nothing is uploaded by default, there is no server-side database that could be breached. You remain in control through your platform's permission system at all times.
Temply is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app stores data only on the device and has no online component by default, it poses no data-collection risk to users of any age.
Temply uses on-device machine-learning libraries — Google ML Kit for text and barcode recognition on Android, and Apple Vision–backed processing on iOS — to read your images locally. These run on your device and are not used to send your images or data to us. On some Android devices, ML Kit models may be provided or updated through Google Play services; the recognition itself still runs on-device. Temply does not embed advertising networks, analytics SDKs (unless you opt in), or social login providers.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Because Temply does not collect or hold any of your personal data on our side, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf — full control rests with you on your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy if the app's features change. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date above and publish the updated policy at this address. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
