How Quick handles your information — in plain language.
Quick ("the app", "we", or "us") is an Android utility by Dowble that lets you message or call a phone number on WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, Telegram, SMS or Phone without saving it to your contacts. You type, paste or scan a number and the app opens it directly in the channel you choose. It also keeps a private, on-device workspace of recent numbers, favorites, notes, follow-up reminders and message templates. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information on your device.
Quick processes the following information locally on your device. None of it is sent to us.
The number you provide is used to build the action you pick — for example a wa.me link for
WhatsApp, a t.me link for Telegram, sms: for a text, or tel: for a call — and
to create a QR code if you ask for one. Quick does not add these numbers to your device's contacts
and does not read your contacts.
Numbers you use are kept in a local history (with the last app used, time and a usage count) so you can reuse them. If you save a favorite, you can add a nickname, notes, tags, a follow-up status and an optional reminder time. All of this is stored in a database inside the app's private storage.
Templates you create or edit, and how often you use them, are stored locally so the most useful ones appear first.
Settings such as theme, dynamic color, clipboard detection and your last-used country code are stored locally using Android's preference storage.
With Clipboard detection on, the app looks at the clipboard for a copied phone number so it can offer to open it. The check happens on-device; clipboard content is not saved or transmitted, and you can turn the feature off in Settings.
When you open the scanner, camera frames are analysed on the device to read a QR code. Frames are not recorded, saved or uploaded. QR images you generate are written to a temporary file only so you can share them through Android's share sheet.
Quick does not access your contacts, call logs, SMS inbox, location, photos, microphone or accounts.
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
CAMERA(optional) |
Only when you open the QR scanner, to read wa.me, t.me, tel: or
contact (vCard) codes. Never used in the background. The rest of the app works without it. |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS(optional) |
Shows the follow-up reminders you schedule on a favorite. If you deny it, reminders simply don't appear. |
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED |
Restores your scheduled reminders after the phone restarts or the app is updated. |
VIBRATE |
Lets reminder notifications vibrate according to your notification settings. |
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE |
Declared for Google's ML Kit barcode scanner and the Android framework. Quick itself does not send your numbers, notes, templates or settings over the network, and has no server to send them to. See section 9 for what ML Kit may send. |
Calling needs no permission: the app opens your phone's dialer with the number filled in and you decide whether to place the call.
Information is used only to provide the features you see: opening chats, messages and calls, creating and scanning QR codes, keeping your history, favorites, notes, reminders and templates, and remembering your preferences.
When you tap an action, Quick hands the number to another app you already use — WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, Telegram, your SMS app or your dialer — through a standard Android intent. Anything you then send happens inside that app and is covered by its privacy policy. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling or anything unrelated to these features.
We do not share, sell, rent or disclose your information. Your numbers, notes and templates never reach us or any third party through Quick. No accountNo servers of oursNo adsNo analytics by us
Sharing a QR image or a template, sending feedback by email, or opening Google Play to rate or share the app are things you start; they go through Android's share sheet, your email app or the Play Store.
Your data stays on your device until you delete it. You can:
QR images or text you have already shared to other apps are held by those apps, not by Quick.
App data is kept in Android's private per-app storage, which other apps cannot read. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is no server-side database of yours that could be breached. You stay in control through Android's permission settings at all times.
Quick is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we hold no personal data from any user.
The QR scanner uses Google's ML Kit barcode scanning, bundled inside the app, so codes are decoded on your device. As part of how ML Kit works, it may contact Google to receive updates and may send Google technical metrics about the scanning API — such as device model, Android version, app package and performance or usage statistics. It does not send the camera images, the codes you scan, or the numbers you type. Google handles this under its own terms: ML Kit terms and Google Privacy Policy.
WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business, Telegram, your SMS and phone apps, your email app and Google Play are separate products with their own privacy policies. Quick is not affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp or Telegram.
Quick contains no advertising networks, analytics SDKs, crash reporters or social login providers.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Because Quick does not collect or hold your personal data on our side, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on your behalf — full control rests with you on your device. For data processed by Google ML Kit, see Google's privacy policy linked above.
We may update this policy if the app's features change. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date above and publish the updated policy at this address. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
