How PDF Pro handles your information — in plain language.
PDF Pro (the "app", "we", or "us") is an Android application for working with PDF documents — opening, reading, zooming, searching, bookmarking, highlighting, drawing on, listening to, sharing and printing PDFs, entirely on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what the app does and does not do with information on your device.
PDF Pro processes the following information locally on your device only. None of it is transmitted off the device by the app.
If you pick a folder (for example Download or Documents) using Android's own folder picker, the app reads that folder to find PDF files and list them in your library, grouped by folder. It reads only basic file details for this listing — file name, size, folder, and dates. You can skip this and still open PDFs one at a time, and you can remove the folder in Settings at any time.
To display a document the app reads the file's contents to render pages, extract text so you can search within the document or have it read aloud, read the table of contents (outline), and read document properties (such as title, author, and page count). Files are processed on your device and are never uploaded or copied to us. If you save highlights or drawings into a PDF, the app writes them only into the file you chose, on your device.
So the app can show your recent and favorite files and let you continue where you left off, it stores — in its own private, on-device database — basic details about documents you've opened (file name, size, page count, dates, and a reference to the file), your last page and reading progress, reading-time statistics, bookmarks, recent search terms, and highlights or drawings. Page thumbnails are rendered and cached locally so the library loads quickly.
Your settings — such as theme, accent color, view mode (day/night/sepia), zoom, scroll and layout options, read-aloud speed and pitch, sort order, and rendering quality — are stored locally on the device.
PDF Pro does not access your contacts, location, photos, microphone, camera, or accounts.

The app is built without the INTERNET permission, so it cannot send
your documents or data over the network.
Information accessed by the app is used solely to provide its features: opening and rendering your PDFs, searching and navigating them, reading them aloud, remembering your library, bookmarks, progress and markup, and applying your preferences. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the features you see in the app.
We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose your information to anyone. Because the app has no network access, your documents and reading data never leave your device through the app and are never sent to us or to any third party. When you tap Share, Print or Save a copy, that is your action and is handled by Android's own share sheet, print service and storage — you choose the app, printer or location the file goes to. Tapping a web link, email address or phone number inside a PDF, or the privacy policy link in Settings, opens it in another app on your device (such as the browser) only when tapped. All processing happens on-device and app data is kept in Android's private per-app storage, which other apps cannot read. Because nothing is uploaded, there is no server-side database that could be breached. You remain in control through Android's permission and folder-access settings at all times.
PDF Pro is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app collects no data and has no online component, it poses no data-collection risk to users of any age.
PDF Pro does not integrate advertising networks, analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or social login providers, and embeds no third-party trackers. It is built with open-source libraries (including the PDFium rendering engine, PDFBox-Android and Android Jetpack) that run entirely on your device and do not transmit data. Read-aloud passes page text to the text-to-speech engine already installed on your device (for example Google's Speech Services), and Print hands the document to the print service you choose; those are provided by your device or its vendor and operate under their own privacy policies.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Since PDF Pro does not collect or hold any of your personal data on our side, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf — full control rests with you on your device (see section 6).
We may update this Privacy Policy if the app's features change. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date above and publish the updated policy at this address. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
